Box Office: ‘Ender’s Game’ Trumps Competition With $9.9 Million

Elsewhere, geezer comedy “Last Vegas” doing better than expected; “About Time” and Princess Diana biopic “Diana” are in grave trouble at the specialty box office.

Sci-fi epic Ender’s Game topped the Friday box office with a solid $9.9 million for a weekend opening in the $28 million range. The movie received a B+ CinemaScore.

Ender’s Game, a co-production between Summit Entertainment, OddLot Entertainment and Digital Domain, is the latest YA film property to attempt to establish a franchise.

‘Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope’ – Harrison Ford in blooper reel

The original blooper reel from Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope has been released. 

Originally released by Lucasfilm editor JW Rinzler for this summer’s Comic-Con, the footage features Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher and Alec Guinness among others.

It has been reported that Ford, Fisher and Mark Hamill will reprise their roles as Han, Leia and Luke in JJ Abrams’s upcoming Star Wars: Episode VII.
